Here I will log inspiration, books, print. imagination.
I will show my progress on projects that I am currently working on! And each step that I take.
I will also show some of interests outside of design and into personal hobbies and events.
I hope you enjoy what you see here and feedback is always appreciated!
• Ask me anything
This Halloween I did play it a bit safe.
I did attempt a typographic pumpkin however, Boo!
I am pretty happy with the cupcakes though, turns out all you need is marshmallows. Meet Frankienstienzs monster, ghost and devil.
Oh and lastly… the fancy dress. I am not a fan of fancy dress, never have been. This year however I did do fancy dress, and a very basic one that cost me only a £5. Thank-you Harry Potter.

With Halloween just around the corner I thought I’d take a look at some pumpkins that have something other than a face. Each year I normally do the typical ‘scary’ or ‘goofy’ face. This year I would like to do something different.
Me and my sister will be doing a bunch for the nursing home where she works as an administer. This means we will want to do quite a few.
Here are some that caught my eye.

Logo play around
Recently my friend asked if I could have a play around with some logo ideas as he was struggling. I’ve created a few basic ones just to get the ball rolling. At the moment I am trying to find a balance between professional and fun. Personally my favourite is the bottom row, where the ‘U’ is the melon.

I was recently approached by someone looking for a personalized gift for their friends 30th birthday. They asked if I could possibly design them a heart shaped from words best describing their friend.
As I had previously done typographic shapes before I knew I would be able to do it, and in a tight time also. I gave myself no longer than two hours to create the design and get it sent to the printers. After the initial design (which took 45 mins - choosing type and colour etc) I sent it back to the client, who was very happy with the style, but did want some words swapped around. After making these changes it was sent off to the printers :)
Afterwards, the client chose a frame.
She recently sent me a photo of the A2 print. Which you can see below.

Save The Date
Recently I designed my friend and her fiance their save the dates. After an initial discussion with her, she mentioned how their wedding would have a love birds theme.
Therefore, she would want some element of this theme in the invites. After showing her some examples she fell in love with the simple postcard look, and thought this would be suitable, due to its subtly and cost efficiency. From this concept I created an initial six designs. Below is the one they both chose.

Race for life
On Sunday, two friends and I ran (or should I say jogged) the 5k race for life. We were a bit silly and did no training before, oops. However, we still managed to complete it in 35 mins, we were pretty proud of ourselves, especially of our friend Chloe who had only given birth to her beautiful son four months ago. Bloody amazing!
Here are some pre and post photo’s.

Trip down ‘design’ lane
I was speaking with a friend recently, and flickr came up in the conversation. This made me think about my old flickr account that I had whilst at college. Unfortuantly I can’t remember what login/password/email I used at the age, and at the point I wasn’t 100% confident in my designs and half of them were set onto ‘only contacts can see.’ However, a few were left open so I could take a trip down memory lane. Looking at the old examples of work made me realise how much more care free I used to be when approaching a project, this meant that I took more chances and risks. Here are a few examples, as you can see I was a fan of mixed media:

Tea time illustration! I created this a few weeks back but haven’t quite finished it. I do like where it’s going though.
Right time to go get a cup of tea.

I used Flash for the first time ever the other week! And yes this is a very very simple upload hah, but it’s a start :) since this I have learnt to repeat the action, creating a rainy scene for a few minutes. Slowly but surely going to learn the ways of Flash.

I recently had an internship at Proctor and Stevenson, a leading agency in Bristol.
While I was only there for a month, I got to meet a wonderful team and develop my skills further. I experienced creating art works for pitches in very limited time, continuing campaign work and creating illustrations.
A massive thank you to Mike and Toni for their advice and time.
